Sunrise Powerlink Transmission Line Project Biological Services
Rincon Consultants provided biological support services for the Sunrise Powerlink Transmission Line Project; a 117-mile electricity transmission line that will carry renewable energy from the Imperial Valley to San Diego County. The project involves construction of both underground and overhead transmission lines running through San Diego County and Imperial County in a variety of terrains (deserts, mountains, urban, etc.). Rincon Consultants provided environmental support for ongoing construction and conducted avian bird surveys for the project.
Rincon’s Biologists conducted protocol surveys for least Bell’s vireo, southwestern willow flycatcher, arroyo toad, and rare plants over several miles of right-of-way of the project and provided our Client with appropriate effective, species-specific buffers and mitigation measures. Rincon’s Biological Monitors provided guidance in the field regarding compliance with the biological requirements of the project and worked with Clients to ensure all biological mitigation measures are followed.
