Dr. Vander Pluym oversaw preparation of an Air Quality Technical Report for two adjacent properties (188 acres and 33 acres) located in the San Joaquin Valley in unincorporated west Kern County, California. The Air Quality and GHG Technical Report documented the existing air quality conditions in the project area, and assessed short and long term air emissions impacts associated with the photovoltaic (PV) solar electrical generation facility, GHG impacts, and human health risks. To appropriately assess air quality and GHG for the project, the report followed specific instructions listed in Guidelines for Preparing an Air Quality Assessment for Use in Environmental Impact Reports (Kern County Planning Department, December 1, 2006). The assessment also utilized the most recent air quality guidance documents from the Kern County Planning Department and San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
