Rincon assisted the City of Azusa with general programming and site development guidance for a developer Request for Proposals (RFP), addressing redevelopment of an 8-acre infill site. The primary goal of the consultation was the creation of affordable housing, green building and sustainable development principles, criteria, and concepts to clearly outline the City’s expectations to be addressed by developers in responding to the RFP.  Through a cross-disciplinary (urban planners, landscape architects, architects, LEED APs, and environmental scientists), collaborative, and vision-driven approach, we were able to assist the City in generating an RFP that included sustainable guidelines sufficient for developers to propose a financially viable planning strategy for an environmentally sustainable, mixed-use urban infill project that fulfill affordable housing and other City planning goals.
