Rincon's New GIS Drone Pilots

We are excited to announce that GIS team members Gina Gerlich, Emily Gaston, and Chris Jackson-Jordan recently passed their exam to become Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Drone Pilots! The completion of the FAA course, Part 107 Small UAS Initial (ALC-451) online training course, is a requirement for any drone pilot in a commercial setting.

Following are some of the topics covered in the course:

  • Applicable regulations relating to small, unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation
  • Effects of weather on small, unmanned aircraft performance
  • Emergency procedures
  • Determining the performance of small, unmanned aircraft

With the added pilots, Rincon can collect, process, and analyze more in-house drone imagery.
