This session provided a holistic perspective of what it takes to evaluate ISW and consider GDEs as beneficial users of groundwater, demonstrating how Groundwater Sustainability Agencies are meeting the requirements of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).

Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) for peak-flow stream diversion in a Southern California Watershed

Rincon Speaker: Menso de Jong, PhD, PG, Senior Watershed Scientist 

Rincon’s Menso de Jong presented a poster in Wednesday evening’s session detailing ongoing work at the San Antonio Creek Groundwater Replenishment Project. This site in Ventura County utilizes excess stormwater surface flow to recharge the local aquifer. Rincon is working with the Ventura County Public Works Agency to optimize project operations, comply with environmental protection permits, and contribute to sustainably managed aquifers.”
