Government

Climate Action Plans, GHG Inventories, Plastics Ordinances

A Climate Action Plan (CAP) is a customized roadmap to reduce GHG emissions and help prepare for anticipated effects of climate change. CAPs typically include a GHG emissions inventory and forecast; GHG reduction targets; policies and implementation actions to meet the targets; an analysis of GHG reduction potential, costs, and savings for each policy or program; and an implementation and monitoring program.

Rincon also assists local and regional agencies with implementing GHG emissions reduction measures and programs identified in their CAPs, such as plastic bag and other plastics ordinances, alternative energy programs, green building codes, alternative transportation plans, and more.

GHG Reporting and Verification, Energy Audits

Rincon provides strategic and technical assistance in support of California’s Regulation (17 ccr §95100 – §95133) for the mandatory reporting and third party verification of GHG emissions. The firm is certified by the California Air Resource Board (ARB) as a GHG Verification Body, holding the accreditation required to provide third-party verification services of GHG emission inventories reported per the California Mandatory Reporting Rule. Additionally Rincon is certified by the ARB as a GHG Offset Verification Body, holding the accreditation required to provide third-party verification of GHG Offset projects.

Development

Green Building Review

Rincon has several in-house Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)-accredited professionals and Build It GreenTM-certified green building professionals who can prepare a Green Building Program Compliance Review in accordance with local requirements. These reviews assess projects for conformance to Green Building General Requirements and Green Building Point System, provide criteria used to determine compliance with Green Building General Requirements and Points, identify and quantify Green Building Points in the Preliminary and Final Green Building Plan, and suggest possible project modifications. Rincon also takes clients through the US Green Building Council’s LEED certification process, from start to finish.
