170 Acre Open Space Preserve including riparian, grassland, marsh, vernal pool, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral habitat

Since 2007, Rincon has been managing the 170 acre Open Space Preserve adjacent to The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe Estates in San Diego County. This is a joint conservation effort between the Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe Homeowners Association, the County of San Diego, the San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority, and Rincon. As the Habitat Management Team, Rincon is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the habitat management program, including:
- Invasive species monitoring and management
- Sensitive species montioring
- Erosion control
- Trash removal
- Habitat restoration
- Vegetation mapping (monitor long-term changes in vegetation communitites)
- Community education/meetings
- Website management
- Annual reporting
