Ready for a compelling career in environmental consulting?

Here are some reasons to put Rincon at the top of your list.

Success Stories

“I came to Rincon Consultants as a recent graduate with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science & Management. Through my interviews, I could sense that Rincon has a friendly, flexible, and empowering company culture, as well as a deep bench of subject matter experts who serve as mentors to junior staff. This combination creates amazing opportunities for Associates.

Within the first six months of joining Rincon, I was asked to track a local emerging market with a need for Rincon’s specialized expertise in environmental impact analyses: cannabis cultivation in Santa Barbara County. I attended public hearings, met with regulators and potential clients, and worked closely with Rincon colleagues across all levels of the firm. As a result, I helped to establish Rincon as a local expert and a go-to firm for cannabis-related environmental services. Many firms would not have given an Associate this opportunity to be on the frontlines of a key emerging market. I feel lucky to work for a company that gives junior staff the tools, mentorship, and hands-on assignments we need to grow and succeed in our careers.”

“Nothing can beat my first few months as a Planner at Rincon’s Monterey office. From week one, I was immersed in the world of environmental planning, conducting research on a wide range of topics from agricultural pesticide use in Santa Cruz County to geologic hazards in Morro Bay. With time, effort, and internal trainings through RinconU, I began drafting analyses for CEQA documents, conducting site visits and collecting noise measurements for local development projects. This real-life project experience gave me an edge over my peers and exposure to many facets of environmental planning.

When I wasn’t researching or writing, I was taking full advantage of the office’s prime location. Just minutes from the restaurants and shops of Downtown Monterey, there was never a shortage of things to do on break or during lunch. And when I just wanted to enjoy a great view, the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail and beach near Fisherman’s Wharf were waiting for me a block away.”

We have a number of current staff who have developed a career path to becoming leaders within the firm.  Two of those are now Principals.  Lacrissa and Matt now invest time in providing leadership and mentoring to new Rincon employees, and help them develop their own career paths.

We have the freedom to pursue projects that we are passionate about, and develop a structure or path to execute a plan of action that leads to exceptional client service, all while allowing us to find work/life harmony. Rincon understands that to be our best at work, we need to be the best version of our self at home.”
